Reimbursement summary for angioplasty of arteries of lower extremities

First reimbursement for rotational atherectomy systems via LPPR list

On August 6, 2020, the Ministry of Solidarity and Health published an Order (of August 4, 2020) listing the rotational atherectomy systems ROTAPRO and ROTALINK PLUS of the company BOSTON SCIENTIFIC under Title V of the list of reimbursable products and services provided for in Article L. 165-1 of the Social Security Code (LPPR List).

In Title V of the list of reimbursable products and services, Chapter 2, section 5, “Rotational Atherectomy Systems,” was added. It included two codes:

  • 5243374 Rotational Atherectomy System, Boston Scientific, ROTALINK PLUS
  • 5218318 Rotational Atherectomy System, Boston Scientific, ROTAPRO

The indication for the use of ROTAPRO and ROTALINK PLUS is the treatment of native coronary stenosis not expandable by balloon:

  • Either by not crossing a balloon of minimum size
  • Or by non-impaction with a balloon of a size suitable for the artery and inflated at high pressure (up to 30 atm)

The updated version of LPPR list was published on August 27, 2020, at the website of the social security institutions which includes Rotational Atherectomy System ROTAPRO (5218318) and ROTALINK PLUS (5243374) with the tariff of €1,148.4.
