In September 2025, the Dutch Organization for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) awarded eighteen projects under the first round of the Medical Specialist Care and Research program concerning e-health, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and interventional radiology areas.

As of September 2025, the Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services is working on health technology assessments in several areas, including in-vitro diagnostics, e-health, and gynecology procedures.

In August 2025, Health Technology Wales (HTW) accomplished two full appraisals on long-length peripheral intravenous catheters (LPCs) for difficult intravenous access and photo-plethysmography for managing atrial fibrillation. In addition, two Med Tech-related Topic Exploration Reports were published in the radiotherapy and e-health fields.

On September 10, 2025, the French National Authority for Health (HAS) published its evaluation principles for the reimbursement of digital medical devices via the list of medical telemonitoring activities (LATM) and advanced reimbursement for therapeutic and telemonitoring digital medical devices (PECAN). The HAS has also updated evaluation principles for reimbursement of medical devices for individual use via the List of Reimbursable Products and Services (LPPR), Intra-DRG (Intra-GHS) List, and transitional support (PECT).

On September 1, 2025, the application window opened to join the 2026 NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) program. NIA supports the development of innovators (Fellows) and the spread of their innovation nationally. The 2026 call is not limited to a specific theme and is open to innovations addressing any health and care challenges. The application deadline is October 12, 2025.

In August 2025, the Dutch Organization for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) awarded seventeen projects under the subsidy round “Preparatory implementation activities Round 1” of the Appropriate Care Framework program. Awarded projects include e-health, men’s health, in-vitro diagnostic, and other fields.

Between early March 2025 and late August 2025, three more health apps were introduced in the Directory of digital health applications (DiGAs) at the Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and thus became reimbursable. These apps can be prescribed by physicians and psychotherapists and will be reimbursed by health insurers. In total, 58 health apps are currently available in the DiGA Directory, and fourteen health apps were delisted from the Directory.

In June-July 2025, Health Technology Wales (HTW) accomplished one full appraisal on implantable tibial neuromodulation devices for urinary incontinence. In addition, seven Med Tech-related Topic Exploration Reports were published in the e-health, diagnostic imaging, in-vitro diagnostics, neurology, and radiotherapy fields.

In August 2025, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) announced two new projects within its Health Technology Assessment Innovation Laboratory (HTA Lab). The projects explore generative AI technologies in economic modelling and how AI can support and enhance NICE’s HTA processes through automation, predictive modeling, and reasoning systems.

In July 2025, the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in England released seven Med Tech-related assessments in its HTA Journal, which concerned nephrology and urology, pulmonology, gynecology, in-vitro diagnostics and e-Health fields.

In July 2025, the Dutch Organization for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) awarded twelve projects under the 2026 round of the Efficiency Research program concerning e-health, diagnostic imaging, gastrointestinal, endoscopy, orthopedics, gynecology, pulmonology, and cardiology fields.

In July 2025, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) published one new Interventional Procedures Guidance on pulsed-field ablation in atrial fibrillation, one new Early Value Assessment on digital technologies in anxiety and depression, and two new Late Stage Assessments (One-piece closed bags for colostomies, intermittent urethral catheters for chronic incomplete bladder emptying).
