Reimbursement summary for angioplasty of arteries of lower extremities

Dutch Healthcare Authority published the first release of the 2025 DRG package

On May 01, 2024, the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) published the first release of the 2025 DRG package (RZ25a) that applies to specialist medical care and geriatric rehabilitation care. It includes Three new procedure codes, five new supplementary payments, four new diagnosis codes and one new DRG.

Some examples of new procedure codes include:

  • Code 037162 “Laparoscopic fibroid enucleation”;
  • Code 039151 “Provision of gene therapy by infusion or injection”.

Nine new supplementary payments (OZPs) will be implemented for intensive neurorehabilitation for young people and young adults (aged 16 to 35 years) with serious acquired brain injury. Some examples of new OZP codes include:

  • Code 198516 “Optional service – intensive rehabilitation in young people/young adults with acquired brain damage – nursing, every 2 weeks;
  • Code 198517 “Optional service – intensive rehabilitation in young people/young adults with acquired brain damage – from 3 to 60 hours of therapy, per 6 weeks (low-intensity)”.

One new DRG 029499058 “Administration via an infusion of cells stimulated in the laboratory (tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, TIL) that stimulate the immune system against skin cancer” will be implemented for treatment of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL).

The effective date of the release is January 1, 2025.
