Digital Health Partnership Award open for applications in England

On July 01, 2021, NHSX launched a new Digital Health Partnership Award. It will help NHS organizations receive funding to accelerate the adoption of digital health products and services to monitor patients with long-term conditions remotely.

The award will support technologies across the spectrum of development, from novel deployment to scaling proven technology.

Applications must be submitted by NHS organizations in England, identifying the technology, partnership stakeholders, and opportunity the proposals seek to support. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2021.

The following areas for the use of digital technologies are under the scope:

  • Optimization of care pathways, to scale existing services that support patients at home, in a care home, or closer to home with digital tools, to reach many more patients;
  • Patient-centred data exchange, data connectivity challenges where the solution will improve the interoperability of siloed solutions improving the long-term sustainable exchange of patient data for safe clinical care;
  • Self-management and prevention advice, integration of devices to improve the time in therapeutic range and the user experience for patients managing long-term conditions;
  • System efficiencies, digital solutions to support workforce management resources and capacity in remote care.

A key component of the application will be demonstrating how local, regional or national partnerships will deliver the rapid scale, deployment, and uptake of the digital solution. Partners can include other health and care organizations, higher education institutions, local authorities and commercial organizations, and others.

Applications will be assessed through an open and transparent process with an independent panel of healthcare professionals, alongside NHSX and NHS England and NHS Improvement senior stakeholders. Feedback for all applications and shortlist will be provided in August 2021.

There will be three categories of funding: projects requiring the support of up to £100,000, £250,000, and £500,000.
