The Danish Healthcare Quality Institute is in place from January 2025
Since January 1, 2025, the Danish Healthcare Quality Institute (Sundhedsvæsenets Kvalitetsinstitut, DHQI) has been established, replacing the Health Technology Council (Behandlingsrådet) and the Regions' Clinical Quality Development Program (RKKP).
The DHQI comprises three overall focus areas, each of which in its own way contributes to patients receiving treatment of high and uniform quality across the country and the best possible health for the money:
- Support of the work with clinical guidelines;
- Preparation of assessments of therapies, including health technology;
- The aim is to ensure an overall direction for the work on quality and prioritization in the health service. The focus is on freeing up manpower and resources as well as removing treatments that do not provide sufficient value for the patient, thus ensuring more health for the money;
- The Danish Healthcare Quality Institute is currently working to define the processes and methods behind the upcoming assessments. In the meantime, ongoing and completed assessments can be found on the Health Technology Council website;
- Taking responsibility for the operation and development of clinical quality databases in order to support the development of quality throughout the patient pathway.
During the spring of 2025, the content of the Health Technology Council website (behandlingsraadet.dk) will be transferred to the new website of the Danish Healthcare Quality Institute (sundk.dk).
