Changes about day surgery reimbursement in Norway in 2019

25 Mar 2019

Changes in the funding of day surgery have started in 2018 and will continue in 2019. The changes in 2018 were related mainly to the day surgery volume. The cost weights on selected DRGs (with short stays) were set equal to the cost weight of hospital DRGs.

Since 2019, the scheme will be extended to include benign gynecological interventions. Thus, DRGs 359 and 359O “Operations on the uterus / adnexa in benign disease” will have the same cost weight in 2019.
