2021 PHRC and PRME projects awarded announced in France
On June 24, 2021, the list of awarded PHRC and PRME projects, submitted in 2020, was published on the website of the French Ministry of Solidarity and Health.
Coverage with evidence development programs are designed to test innovations (feasibility, efficacy, safety, cost-effectiveness) before their implementation in the health care system or provide a framework for managed introduction with the parallel bridging of key evidence gaps. There are several coverage with evidence development programs in France, including Hospital Program of Clinical Research (Programme Hospitalier de Recherche Clinique, PHRC) and Health Economic Research Program (Programme de Recherche Medico-Economique, PRME).
PHRC program facilitates research within hospitals, assessment of the feasibility of new methods or safety and clinical effectiveness program, and is sub-divided into PHRC-N (national), PHRC-K (cancer), and PHRC-I (interregional). PRME program evaluates the clinical and health economic utility of novel methods.
In 2021, 101 PHRC-N projects were awarded. Furthermore, 36 PHRC-K projects were awarded, while there was no information on the awarded PHRC-I projects. Nine projects were awarded to the PRME program. The awarded projects belong to various technology groups, such as gynecology, nephrology, neurology, cardiovascular, etc.
