Rapid HTAs of four medical devices released in Tuscany in March 2026

The Tuscany Regional Healthcare HTA body issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With the regional decree 4627 of March 6, 2026, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published four rapid HTA reports (three new assessments and one reassessment) on medical devices in the cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, interventional radiology, and orthopedics fields.

Among the new assessments, one focused on the CENTAURI system (Galvanize Therapeutics), a dual-energy generator combining pulsed electric field and radiofrequency technologies. The device is intended for use in adult and paediatric patients undergoing intracardiac ablation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, particularly in cases of recurrent atrial or ventricular arrhythmias or deep/complex arrhythmogenic substrates where conventional thermal ablation techniques may be ineffective or carry a higher risk.

The reassessment concerned the BeFlared FEVAR Stent Graft System (Bentley-InnoMed), indicated for patients with aortic aneurysms involving visceral vessels (pararenal-thoracic-abdominal) undergoing fenestrated endovascular aortic repair (FEVAR).
