Two more applications joined mHealthBelgium – Healthentia and Sunrise
In July 2020, two new apps entered the level 1 of the mHealthBelgium validation pyramid.
The Healthentia key features:
- Can be used by
- patients – subjects to a clinical study
- investigators of clinical studies
- healthy individuals
- The primary function is to support the capturing of data in clinical studies
- Individuals can report and monitor their outcomes (e.g., symptoms) and activity and receive automatic-generated questionnaires for wellbeing. Aggregated data provided after users’ consent, can be processed for conducting non-profit research studies
- In sponsored clinical trials the app can be used to carry out study protocols
- The mobile application can be paired with wearable devices (e.g., activity trackers), as well as other medical devices and sensors.
- It is planned to add eHealth services to the users in next versions of Healthentia
- The application is free-of-charge for individuals, while for sponsor organizations, there is a fee per user per month in PaaS or SaaS model.
The Sunrise key features:
- Sunrise is a medical device (Class IIa) that includes a mobile application, a sensor to be placed on the chin and a web platform for healthcare professionals
- The sensor placed on the chin records the mandibular movements
- The app analyzes the data gathered by the sensor from a secured cloud in real-time using artificial intelligence
- Clinical tests carried out on 400 patients show a 90% agreement with polysomnography for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea
- It is approved for both adults and children
- Pricing information can be obtained by request on the manufacturer’s website
