Reimbursement summary for angioplasty of arteries of lower extremities

This post presents an extract from our reimbursement analysis for angioplasty of arteries lower extremities using plain and drug-coated balloons (DCBs) for peripheral artery disease in England, France and Germany. Plain balloon angioplasty is reimbursement via DRG solely and DCBs are reimbursement via combination of DRG and add-on reimbursement.

VORTEX nozzle was included into the list of pharmaceutical benefits by Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefit Agency

On the 5th of April of 2018, Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefit Agency (Tandvårds- och läkemedelsförmånsverket, TLV) has published a positive decision for inclusion of VORTEX nozzle (spare part for VORTEX inhalation container) into the list of pharmaceutical benefits. Although VORTEX nozzle has shown the same level of clinical benefit in comparison to other nozzles from the product group Y93DB05 (masks, inhalation accessories), it was considered to be included in the list of pharmaceutical benefits due to lower price of 45.42 SEK per product versus comparators.

The decision will enter into its force from the 19th of April, 2018.
