Two more health apps obtained reimbursement in Germany
On June 19, 2021, two more health apps were introduced in the Directory of digital health applications (DiGAs) at the Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and thus became reimbursable. These apps can be prescribed by physicians and psychotherapists and will be reimbursed by health insurers. In total, seventeen health apps are now available at the DiGA Directory.
The health apps “Selfapy’s online course in generalized anxiety disorder” and “Selfapy's online course in panic disorder" (Selfapy GmbH, Germany) offer people with a generalized anxiety disorder or panic disorder, respectively an individual online course based on evidence-based theories and techniques of cognitive-behavioral therapy. The therapeutic content can be worked on independently via the internet-based course. It is recommended to complete at least one lesson per week, lasting around 30-45 minutes. The course lasts three months in total. Both health apps are available in German with the same tariff of €540.
One more health app of the same manufacturer with the same tariff, "Selfapy's online course in depression", was already introduced in the Directory on December 16, 2020.
