The revised EBM catalog for the first quarter of 2025 published in Germany

On January 1, 2025, the revised EBM (German Uniform Evaluation Standard) catalog for the first quarter of 2025 came into force. The main changes introduced concern updates of the contents (services legends, preambles of several EBM subchapters), the introduction of new EBM codes related to dialysis services, CT coronary angiography, management of long COVID patients, different types of consultations and visits, and material costs flat rates related to shipping services.

The examples of the codes introduced are provided below:

Sub-chapter 34.3.7 “Computed tomography coronary angiography according to No. 42 of Annex I of the Directive on examination and treatment methods in ambulatory settings (MVV-RL)”

  • 34370 “CT coronary angiography according to No. 42 of Annex I of the G-BA Directive on examination and treatment methods in ambulatory settings (MVV-RL)”, once in the case of disease, with a tariff of €159.26;
  • 34371 “Interdisciplinary case conference after CT coronary angiography according to code 34370” with a tariff of €15.86.

Sub-chapter 40.14 “Performance-related flat rate costs for goods and services for treatment using renal replacement procedures and extracorporeal blood purification procedures”

  • 40840 “Surcharge to the flat rate 40823 or 40824 for night dialysis”, per dialysis performed, maximum three times per calendar week with a tariff of €26.50;
  • 40841 “Surcharge to the flat rate 40816 or 40825 for continuous cyclic peritoneal dialysis (CCPD)” with a tariff of €41.35;
  • 40843 “Surcharge to the flat rate 40825 for home hemodialysis” with a tariff of €91.90;
