A regular update of the Danish SKS coding system from January 2025
The Danish Health Data Authority (Sundheddatastyrelsen) quarterly updates the Health Care Classification System (Sundhedsvæsenets Klassifikations System, SKS). The latest version was published in mid-December 2024 to come into force on January 1, 2025.
Among other changes, thirty-two new procedure codes were introduced concerning diagnostic imaging, endoscopy, ENT, gastrointestinal, in-vitro diagnostics, neurology and neurosurgery, neuromodulation, surgical procedures, mental health, and some other fields. Some examples of newly added codes are provided below:
- ZZV009A1A Assessment of tumor height by rectoscopy;
- BDDD65 Primary fitting of a cochlear implant;
- ZZ1003 High-resolution pharyngeal manometry (HRPM);
- ZZ4254 Control with urine biomarkers after previous bladder cancer;
- ZZ4058 Adjustment of the breath-synchronized hypoglossal stimulation system;
- KGAA10A Placement of permanent pleural drain;
- BWHP145 Treatment with enfortumab vedotin.
