Rapid HTAs of four medical devices released in Tuscany in January 2025

The HTA body of the Tuscany Regional Healthcare issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. On January 10, 2025, with the regional decree 28511 of December 23, 2024, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published four new rapid HTA reports on medical devices used in surgical procedures, ophthalmology, men’s health, and orthopedics.

Examples of evaluated technologies are provided below:

  • Endo-Model Knee Fusion Nail by Waldemar Link GmbH & Co. for patients who can benefit from the use of endomedullary nails for knee arthrodesis;
  • SING IMT (Smaller-Incision New Generation Implantable Miniature Telescope), Model NG SI IMT 3X by Samsara Vision for the treatment of bilateral central scotomas due to end-stage age-related macular degeneration in patients with moderate to profound stable visual impairment.
