Promotion of digital transformation of the Swiss healthcare system

On November 22, 2023, the Swiss Federal Council approved the digital transformation program in the healthcare system (DigiSanté). The program promotes the implementation of the Swiss health data space in order to improve treatment quality, efficiency, transparency, and patient safety and to strengthen research. It includes around 50 projects and the following packages:

  • Requirements for digital transformation;
  • National infrastructure;
  • Digitalization of government services;
  • Secondary use for planning, control, and research.

To implement the program over a period of ten years (2025 – 2034), the Federal Council is applying to Parliament for a commitment loan of 392 million francs.
