Ongoing mini-HTAs in Norway in November 2024
In November 2024, the following ongoing mini-HTA assessments for cardiovascular, diagnostic imaging, e-health, gastrointestinal, in-vitro diagnostics, interventional radiology, men’s health, pulmonary and airways, robotic surgery, and some other fields are evaluated as a part of a framework for the managed introduction of innovations "New Methods" in Norway. Some examples are listed below:
- Pulmonary vein isolation with Pulsed Field Ablation;
- Introduction of Berlin Heart EXCOR for long-term mechanical circulatory support in children with terminal heart failure;
- Robot-assisted ultrasound on pregnant women;
- Use of the artificial intelligence application BoneView (by Gleamer) for analysis of diagnostic images in suspected fractures;
- Breathe Better – A digital tool to strengthen the health skills of people with chronic lung disease;
- Use of artificial intelligence (icobrain MS) for annotation and reporting of MS plaques and volumetry;
- MemoPlanner as a facilitation tool for coping with everyday life;
- Trial of mobile patient monitoring in patients with a need for cEWS follow-up;
- Assessment of models for Closed drug loop in Oslo University Hospital;
- Artificial intelligence (AI)-based image interpretation for diabetic retinopathy;
- Transarterial radioembolization of liver tumors;
- Return of intestinal contents in patients with intestinal failure using The Insides System pump;
- Removal of intestinal polyps;
- Mobile Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor Test Kit for the detection of nerve agents and other cholinesterase inhibitors;
- Poly-marker in endometrial cancer to de-escalate treatment.
