Ongoing HTAs by the Andalusian Agency for Health Technology Assessment
The Agency for Health Technology Assessment of Andalusia Autonomous Community in Spain (AETSA) systematically evaluates healthcare technologies and provides decision-makers with critically review information about their efficacy, safety, and effectiveness. Currently, the AETSA is working on assessments of laser-induced heat therapy in epilepsy surgery, stereotactic radiation therapy for the treatment of refractory ventricular tachycardia, implantable Holter monitor with ILink Online technology for prolonged cardiac monitoring, and other topics.
As of May 7, 2021, the AETSA is working on the following assessments related to medical procedures or technologies:
- Clinical practice guide on secondary prevention of stroke;
- Safety and effectiveness of laser-induced heat therapy in epilepsy surgery;
- Management and care protocol for Kawasaki disease;
- Safety and efficacy of optical coherence tomography angiography for the identification of retinal neovessels for age-related macular degeneration;
- 18F-FDG in the study of myocardial viability in patients with severe left ventricular failure who are candidates for revascularization;
- Incompatible living donor kidney transplant (update);
- Efficacy and safety of acupuncture (I);
- Stereotactic radiation therapy for the treatment of refractory ventricular tachycardia;
- Oncothermia in patients with pancreatic cancer, advanced colorectal cancer, and malignant gliomas;
- Efficacy and safety of acupuncture (II);
- Clinical practice guide: update management of patients with an autism spectrum disorder in primary care;
- Transcranial magnetic stimulation in patients with multiple sclerosis. Clinical effectiveness, safety, and economic evaluation;
- Safety and efficacy of the implantable Holter monitor with ILink Online technology for prolonged cardiac monitoring;
- Carotid baroreceptors for the treatment of resistant arterial hypertension;
- Clinical effectiveness, safety, and economic evaluation of the population screening for Hepatitis C;
- High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) in solid tumors (upgrade);
- High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) in organ-confined prostate tumors.
