Plain balloon angioplasty is reimbursement via DRG solely and DCBs are reimbursement via combination of DRG and add-on reimbursement.

One new diagnostic code added to private reimbursement schedule in England in October/November 2018

The Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclature for private payers in England. Once codes are added to the Schedule, a private insurance company can develop reimbursement tariff for these procedures and tests.

The CCSD Group has approved the following diagnostic code for publication to the CCSD Schedule in July/August with a recommended adoption date being the 1st of February 2019:

  • US Doppler Vascular Limb (including duplex) – bilateral (IM370)

The 2025 version of the SwissDRG released

On December 12, 2024, the entity managing the DRG system in Switzerland, SwissDRG, published the final (billing) version of the 2025 DRG system. In total, 23 new DRGs related to cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, nephrology and urology, neurology and neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, pulmonary and airways, and some other areas were introduced. Also, 17 new add-on reimbursement categories were implemented.
