A new reimbursement framework for remote consultations will be active in Belgium from spring 2022

A new temporary reimbursement framework for remote consultations is planned to be implemented in Belgium in spring 2022.

Current remote consultation codes related to COVID-19 will be replaced, except for the codes for remote services of psychiatrists and neuropediatricians. The new framework provides reimbursement of four telephone and four video consultations per patient under certain conditions. Final regulations for the new reimbursement framework are in the process of development. The permanent framework for remote consultations by general practitioners is also under development.
