New Health Service Quality Institute will be established by 2025 in Denmark
In April 2024, Danish Regions announced the initiative to establish a new organization called the Health Service Quality Institute (Sundhedsvæsnets Kvalitetsinstitut). It is planned that the Health Technology Council will merge with the Regions' Clinical Quality Development Program (RKKP) into this new organization.
This initiative is part of the wider Region’s ambitions to develop a new model of working with quality and prioritization in the Danish healthcare system.
The new institute will support the Danish Medical Association (LF) and the Organization of Danish Medical Societies (LVS) in developing national clinical guidelines. Danish Regions sees great potential in bringing together the clinical quality databases, the guideline secretariat, and some of the Health Technology Council’s tasks under the same roof.
The new institute is expected to open at the beginning of 2025.
