French National Authority for Health (HAS) has published updated Work Program for 2017

French National Authority for Health (HAS) published updated program that defines priority areas of work of HAS. The work program is defined each year in consultation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the National Health Insurance Fund.

List of projects for medical devices and procedures per area that are planned for HAS work:

• Women’s Health
  • Evaluation of urogenital neuromuscular stimulators (ongoing project)
  • Evaluation of professional acts (procedure codes) for robot-assisted hysterectomy (the project will be started from 2018)
• Cancer
  • Evaluation of professional acts (procedure codes) for dissection of the submucosa of the esophagus, the stomach, by oesogastroduodenoscopy (date of the beginning of the project has not defined yet)
  • Evaluation of professional acts (procedure codes) for resection of the colorectal submucosa by endoscopy (date of the beginning of the project has not defined yet)
• Diseases of the Digestive System
  • Indications of colectomy in colonic diverticulosis (ongoing project, date of completion – Q2 2017)
• Cardiovascular diseases
  • Evaluation of coronary endoprostheses (ongoing project, completion of the project – Q4 2017)
  • Evaluation of professional acts (procedure codes) for thrombectomy of the intracranial arteries by the endovascular route. 2nd section: organizational dimension (ongoing project, completion – Q4 2017)
  • Evaluation of remote monitoring of chronic heart failure (ongoing project, completion – Q4 2018)
• Metabolic diseases
  • Evolution of professional acts (procedure codes) for non-invasive lipolysis techniques (date of the beginning of the project has not defined yet)
• Diseases of the osteo-articular system
  • Evaluation of foot orthoses and heel hulls (ongoing project, completion – Q2 2017)
• Pulmonary diseases
  • Evaluation of medical devices for tracheotomy without ventilation (ongoing project, completion - Q2 2017)
  • Evaluation for remote monitoring of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (ongoing project, completion – Q4 2018)
• Kidney disease
  • Evaluation of professional acts (procedure codes) for robot-assisted nephrectomy (the project will be started from Q3 2017)
  • Recommendations for daily hemodialysis (date of the beginning of the project has not defined yet)
  • Evaluation for remote monitoring of patients with chronic kidney insufficiency
• Urological diseases
  • Evaluation of medical devices for the treatment of urinary incontinence or digestive ostomy (ongoing project, completion – Q2 2017)
• Assessment of health products
  • Evaluation of application for medical devices (registration, amendment of registration and renewals) - 230 cases per year
