The 2020/21 National Tariff Payment System released in England

On November 18, 2020, the 2020/21 National Tariff Payment System was published and came into effect in England. The publication has been delayed due to the NHS response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the response to Covid-19, the NHS has adopted special payment arrangements for 2020/21. Under these arrangements, most providers and commissioners have moved to block contract payments ‘on account’. Guidance on payment and contracting for these arrangements is available from the NHS England and NHS Improvement.
