Rapid HTAs of two medical devices released in Tuscany in January 2026
The Tuscany Regional Healthcare HTA body issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With the regional decree 1565 of January 30, 2026, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published two rapid HTA reports (one new assessment and one reassessment) on medical devices.
A new assessment concerned the transcatheter pulmonary valve (Harmony from Medtronic), for use in adult and pediatric patients with a large right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) for the percutaneous treatment of residual pulmonary valve stenosis and regurgitation following surgical or transcatheter repair of tetralogy of Fallot.
A reassessment was issued for surgical sealant (Progel Platinum from Becton Dickinson).
