Rapid HTAs of three medical devices released in Tuscany

The HTA body of the Tuscany Regional Healthcare issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With regional decree 26990 of December 18, 2023, Tuscany Regional Healthcare has published assessments of three medical devices in the peripheral vascular, orthopedic, and dermatology areas.

Some examples of the assessed technologies are provided below:

• ROTAREX-S rotational atherectomy system by Straub Medical for mechanical removal of calcific lesions of the leg arteries (small caliber vessels) in the presence of calcific lesions and/or thromboembolic material;
• TOUCH uncemented trapeziometacarpal prosthesis by KeriMedical for patients with stages 2 and 3 osteoarthritis according to Eaton classification.

Also, other technologies from the dermatology area were assessed.
