G-BA Innovation Committee announced funding of 18 new projects in Germany
On April 4, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) announced funding from the G-BA Innovation Fund for 18 innovative healthcare research projects dedicated to medical guidelines.
In this cycle, 31 applications were received, and the selection was made based on the recommendations from the pool of experts and the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF). The selected projects are divided into the following way:
- Healthcare in rare diseases: 4;
- Healthcare in more common diseases, treatment of risk factors for non-communicable diseases, multimorbidity and improvement of drug therapy safety in healthcare: 8;
- Healthcare for target groups with special needs, such as children, young people, the elderly, and/or people in need of care: 5;
- Surgical interventions on the skeletal system/locomotor system: 1.
The overview of the new projects is expected to be published on the Innovation Committee's website in May 2022.
