Three more health apps obtained reimbursement in Germany

In late April – and early May 2021, three more reimbursable health apps were introduced in the Directory of digital health applications (DiGAs) at the Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and thus became reimbursable. These apps can be prescribed by physicians and psychotherapists and will be reimbursed by health insurers. In total, fifteen health apps are now available at the DiGA Directory.

The health app "Mindable: Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia" (Mindable Health GmbH, Germany) is based on the methods of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and supports users in proactively addressing and reducing their fears. Mindable is available in German, English, and French with a tariff of €576.

"CANKADO PRO-React Onco" (CANKADO Service GmbH, Germany) is indicated in breast cancer and supports patients under systemic, anti-tumor, or anti-hormonal therapy in an adjuvant, neoadjuvant, post-neoadjuvant, or palliative treatment modes. With PRO-React Onco, patients can record their complaints and receive tailored behavior recommendations. The app is available in 14 languages with a tariff of €499.80.

The third newly introduced health app, "vorvida" (GAIA AG, Germany), is an online platform that helps users manage their drinking behavior and reduce alcohol consumption. vorvida is indicated in mental and behavioral disorders due to alcohol use and is based on established psychotherapeutic approaches and procedures, especially CBT. The app is available in German and English with a tariff of €476.
