Reimbursement summary for angioplasty of arteries of lower extremities

This post presents an extract from our reimbursement analysis for angioplasty of arteries lower extremities using plain and drug-coated balloons (DCBs) for peripheral artery disease in England, France and Germany. Plain balloon angioplasty is reimbursement via DRG solely and DCBs are reimbursement via combination of DRG and add-on reimbursement.

The update of Disease Management Program for Diabetes Mellitus type 2 was commissioned to the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) at the end of June of 2018

At the end of June of 2018, the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) has commissioned to the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) to provide an update of the Disease Management Program (DMP) for Diabetes Mellitus type 2.

The following steps should be conducted by IQWiG:

  • Perform a systematic research to identify current, thematically relevant guidelines for the diagnosis of DMP for Diabetes Mellitus type 2
  • Make a selection of guidelines based on methodological criteria (e.g., DELBI), including those guidelines that have not been previously taken into account, and
  • Extract guideline recommendations relevant for the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus type 2

The final report is expected to be released on the 31st of December, 2019.
