Two more health apps obtained reimbursement in Germany

In February 2022, two more health apps were introduced in the Directory of digital health applications (DiGAs) at the Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and thus became reimbursable. These apps can be prescribed by physicians and psychotherapists and will be reimbursed by health insurers. In total, thirty health apps are now available at the DiGA Directory.

On February 4, 2022, the health app “HelloBetter Vaginismus Plus” (GET.ON Institute for Online Health Training GmbH, Germany) was introduced. “HelloBetter Vaginismus Plus” is a digital health application designed to improve vaginal penetration during intercourse. Those affected receive important information about their symptoms and can try out changes in thinking and acting with the help of various exercises and transfer what they have learned to everyday life. In addition, stressful thoughts and feelings are questioned, as well as relaxation and pelvic floor exercises are integrated. The health app is available in German with a tariff of €599.

The health app “neolexon aphasia”, developed by Limedix GmbH, was introduced on February 6, 2022. It offers people with aphasia (inability to comprehend or formulate language) and/or speech apraxia (speech sound disorder affecting an individual's ability to translate conscious speech plans into motor plans, which results in limited and difficult speech ability) speech therapy training for daily practice at home as a supplement to speech therapy. The application includes exercises in all language areas (understanding, speaking, reading, and writing), which are initially determined individually and continuously adapted by the treating speech therapist. “neolexon aphasia” is available in German with the tariff of €487.90.
