Three more health apps obtained reimbursement in Germany

Between mid-January 2024 and mid-February 2024, three more health apps were introduced in the Directory of digital health applications (DiGAs) at the Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and thus became reimbursable. These apps can be prescribed by physicians and psychotherapists and will be reimbursed by health insurers. In total, 56 health apps are currently available in the DiGA Directory, and six health apps were delisted from the Directory.

On January 19, 2024, the “Vantis | KHK und Herzinfarkt” health app was introduced in the Directory. “Vantis | KHK und Herzinfarkt”, developed by Vantis GmbH, Germany, provides patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) or myocardial infarction history personalized offers in the areas of nutrition, exercise, and recovery that can be easily integrated into everyday life. It also supports blood pressure measurement and medication therapy. The aim is to achieve long-term, heart-healthy behavior in line with clinical guidelines. “Vantis | KHK und Herzinfarkt” supports the connection of a blood pressure monitor and a heart rate monitor. The use is optional. The app is available in German with a tariff of €595.

“MindDoc Auf Rezept”, developed by MindDoc Health GmbH, Germany, was introduced in the Directory on February 8, 2024. It is a transdiagnostic digital health application for people with mild to moderate depressive disorders with and without comorbid mental diseases. The app is intended to help patients monitor their health status over a longer period of time, classify symptoms, and independently apply strategies to deal with symptoms. The app is available in German and English with a tariff of €199.

On February 9, 2024, the “Una Health für Diabetes” health app was introduced in the Directory. “Una Health für Diabetes”, developed by Una Health GmbH, Germany, is a daily therapy companion designed to support patients with type 2 diabetes in self-management of their disease. Users are gradually introduced to guideline-based and individual nutritional recommendations and behavior to improve blood sugar control, weight, and quality of life. The app is available in German with a tariff of €740.
