Noninvasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) for Down’s syndrome will be reimbursed in Belgium

The NIP test is a non-invasive prenatal test aimed at detecting Down's syndrome in fetus. This test is a screening performed using mother's blood sample from the 12th week of pregnancy. The NIP test is much more efficient and will reduce the number of amniocenteses and the resulting number of miscarriages.

The test price is set at 260 Euro. The test will be fully reimbursed for women benefiting from preferential treatment. Women who do not benefit from this scheme will pay a maximum of 8.68 EUR (personal quota).
