The new version of NABM nomenclature was released in France

On January 11, 2021, a new version of the Nomenclature of Medical Biology Acts (NABM068) was released. One new code for detecting the genome of the influenza A and B viruses by RT-PCR was introduced.

The test for detecting the genome of the influenza A and B viruses by RT-PCR is included in the NABM under the code 5272. The test is indicated for symptomatic patients in combination with the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 genome by gene amplification techniques (5271) or the detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens by rapid diagnostic techniques (4274). This test can only be presented for reimbursement during co-circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and influenza viruses, especially during the epidemic period of seasonal influenza as defined by the National Public Health Agency. The reimbursement tariff is €16.20.
