New national 2023–2030 eHealth strategy in Norway

On May 31, 2022, the Norwegian Directorate of e-Health released a draft National eHealth strategy 2023 - 2030 for the health and care sector and launched a consultation period. The deadline for comments submission is October 01, 2022.

The key proposed points are the role of strategy, vision, overall goals and target groups, and five priority strategic goals. Anyone can submit comments, including the health and care sector, patient and user associations, professional and interest organizations, research and innovation environments, and the business community.

The strategic priority goals shall contribute to a sustainable and innovative health and care sector with good quality and coherence in the services. The five priority strategic goals are:

  • Goal 1: Active participation in one's own and the industry's health;
  • Goal 2: Simpler working day;
  • Goal 3: Health data for renewal and improvement;
  • Goal 4: Available information and enhanced collaboration;
  • Goal 5: Cooperation and instruments that strengthen implementation power.
