New comprehensive outpatient reimbursement system available for review in Switzerland

On September 18, 2024, the Organization for Outpatient Physician Tariffs (OAAT) AG announced that the comprehensive tariff system, including the TARDOC catalog of individual service tariffs and outpatient flat rates, is now available for review by the interested parties. The OAAT AG emphasizes that this comprehensive tariff system has not been approved for use by the tariff partners, OAAT AG, or the Federal Council. More information on the next steps of implementing a new system will be provided later.

Following the partial approval of the new system by the Swiss Federal Council on June 19, 2024, the OAAT AG, involving all tariff partners, has been working on coordinating between various actors and integrating TARDOC and outpatient flat rates developed independently of each other. Adjustments were requested to ensure better coordination and adherence to cost neutrality. The full implementation of the new outpatient system is expected in January 2026.
