G-BA Innovation Committee announced funding of 28 new projects in Germany

In late December 2020, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) has announced funding from the G-BA Innovation Fund of twenty-eight innovative projects on new forms of medical care.

In this cycle, seventy-three applications were received; the selection was made based on the recommendations from the pool of experts. There are positive funding decisions for seven project applications from the open-topic area and for twenty-one project applications from the topic-specific area, which are divided into the following way:

  • Geriatric medicine - new ways and structures for future care: 3
  • Innovative approaches to cooperation between the levels of care for structurally weak regions: 1
  • Digital transformation - solutions for the further development of care: 15
  • Innovative prevention approaches for people with disabilities: 2

A first overview of the new projects is expected to be published on the Innovation Committee's website in February 2021.
