Junior Health Economist (full-time, remote)

MTRC, a leading boutique Med Tech market access consultancy in Europe, is looking for a Junior Health Economist. 

MTRC has over 20 full-time employees and multiple part-time consultants. Our offices are in the UK, Spain, and Bulgaria. Most of the employees are home-based. MTRC provides support to large Med Tech corporations and start-ups in the fields of Market Access analysis and strategy, Evidence Synthesis, and Health Economics. MTRC provides regular support to 17 out of the top 30 global medical device companies.

We are looking for a motivated early-career professional with a relevant academic background, and/or initial experience in health economics. Medical education is a strong benefit. This position offers a great opportunity to gain practical experience in applying health economic principles to real-world projects in the MedTech industry across multiple European countries. The role provides structured mentorship, training, and clear growth opportunities within the MTRC team.  

MTRC is involved in several types of health economic projects: 

  • Adaptation of health economic models to different European countries (for publication or as a part of reimbursement/HTA submissions)
  • Development of de novo models, including diagnostic tests and medical devices
  • Contribution to health economic sections of reimbursement and HTA submissions 

The position is home-based.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Supporting the execution of health economic projects (model structure, search for clinical, quality of life, and cost inputs, building the model in MS Excel, assisting in report and manuscript preparation)
  • Conducting background research to support new prospective areas for the company
  • Supporting senior colleagues in meetings with external stakeholders (clients, conferences, industry associations) 
  • Contributing to marketing content related to health economics

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Health Economics, Biology, Life Sciences, or Public Health; a Medical degree is a strong advantage
  • Understanding of health economic principles and interest in applying them to medical technologies
  • Scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals are a strong advantage
  • Good command of MS Excel, including VBA use; familiarity with health economic modeling (decision trees, state-transition models) is desirable; experience with de novo model development will be a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and excellent written English
  • Knowledge of European languages (other than English) is an advantage
