Since 2017, MTRC has maintained detailed overviews of reimbursement systems for medical technologies at the European level and at the level of individual countries. European countries have a complex market access landscape for medical technologies. Elements of market access include reimbursement (coding, payment mechanism, reimbursement tariffs), funding (post-reimbursement approval by payers or approval for coverage by national decision-makers), and health technology assessment.
