Recommendation for the control of X-ray devices at dentists has been updated in Denmark

The recommendation applies to orthopedic tomographs, which take an X-ray of the entire dental kit or a skull, including jaws and teeth. The controls are usually performed by X-ray companies, and they must ensure that the devices are functioning properly, both at the time of purchase and afterwards, to maintain the quality of the X-ray examination. The recommendation is a review of a previous recommendation from April 2010. In general, there are no new methods of control measurement methods.

Also, the recommendation contains guidelines for patient dose measurement and reference doses because requirements for patient dose measurement as compared to reference doses are introduced with the new ionizing radiation and radiation protection notice.
