Dutch Healthcare Authority published the first release of the DRG package for 2023

On April 28, 2022, the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) published the first release of the DRG package for 2023 (RZ23a) that applies to specialist medical care and geriatric rehabilitation care. It includes nine new codes for expensive materials (stent, graft, and embolization materials) used in interventional radiology procedures (190681 – 190689), a new procedure code for Intermittent Pneumatic Compression therapy for edemas (039549)

Thirteen new supplementary payments (OZPs) will be implemented, including seven new OZPs for remote monitoring of cardiovascular and lung diseases.

Nineteen new DRGs will be implemented, including six new DRGs for palliative pediatric care, nine DRGs for carotid endarterectomy and aortic surgery with or without neuromonitoring, as well as new DRGs for lymphovenous anastomosis surgery by the plastic surgeon, supervision of the pregnancy by a fertility center after fertility treatment and light therapy of skin diseases with blisters.

The effective date of the release is January 1, 2023.
