Plain balloon angioplasty is reimbursement via DRG solely and DCBs are reimbursement via combination of DRG and add-on reimbursement.

The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare has published the 2018 version of the Classification of non-surgical medical interventions

The Swedish Classification of Care Measures (Klassifikation av vårdåtgärder, KVÅ) contains codes for surgical (Klassifikation av kirurgiska åtgärder, KKÅ) and non-surgical (Klassifikation av medicinska åtgärder, KMÅ) medical interventions. It is managed by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) and updated annually.

Eight new codes for the following non-surgical medical procedures will be added in 2018:

  • Maternal Blood Test for Fetal Diagnosis (Non-Invasive Prenatal Diagnosis, Noninvasive Prenatal Testing) (AM042);
  • Insertion of suprapubic catheter (DK010);
  • Removal of suprapubic catheter (DK023);
  • Vacuum Aspiration, Non Surgical (DL009);
  • Removal of peripheral long-term catheters (SP502);
  • Insertion of peripheral long-term catheters (SP505);
  • Correction of peripheral center catheter (SP815);
  • Correction of peripheral long-term catheters (SP816).
